The romance genres are multitudinous. When someone says romance novel, I’m sure everyone thinks something differently, but do any of you think of the Christmas romance genre?
The other night my husband and I attended a party. I have a day job so when someone asks me what I do, the first thing I think about is my day job and tell them about that. Not my husband. To him, I’m a writer. I should think like him. But when people ask me what I write and I tell them romance, they get that look on their faces that what I write is lascivious.
A lot of romance authors do write the racier genres, and, why not? They enjoy it, and there’s a market for it. There are almost as many romance genres as there are romance writers.
One of the more popular romance genres is the Christmas romance genre. Most everyone loves the holidays. It’s a time of shopping and parties and baking. And what better time to mix a little romance into all the festivities. The Hallmark Channel has capitalized on that combination.
Knowing that you can celebrate the season and fall in love can put a smile on anyone’s face. No matter the time of year, the Christmas romance genre is a big seller. Fans of the genre are always in the mood for Christmas and romance.
During the holidays, I hope you find peace and joy, and if you’re in the mood for a little romance with your season’s greetings, be sure to curl up with a cup of cocoa a Christmas romance. It’s certain to put a smile on your face.
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Laura
