Though it’s a little late, I wanted to launch my new website with a wish to all of you for a happy and healthy New Year. The holidays are behind us and it’s time to look forward to 2016. I can’t believe that’s the year we are starting. The years keep whipping by and the number of the year gets larger.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. The holidays always seem to creep up on us, with the kids going back to school then comes Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the frenzy to prepare for Christmas. Thank goodness for a New Year holiday when we can spend a day recuperating, even if it’s a low key gathering of family and friends and watching football. Though this time of year can be exhausting, it’s nice to look forward to a new year of hopes and dreams.
Though I don’t necessarily make New Year’s resolutions, I do think about what I want to accomplish during the year, which doesn’t always happen but I have to at least make an attempt at some direction. This is the year that I focus on my writing and to begin with I’m launching a webpage. I’m very excited about it and hope you enjoy browsing through the different pages. I’ll post my books and links to my books. I’ll also have a blog page where I share different interests that I hope will capture your attention.
Next on the list is having my picture taken. This will take some courage since I’ve never been fond of the way I photograph, but hopefully with a talented photographer we settle on something acceptable enough for me to post on the site. I always appreciate it when an author posts a picture of herself. It’s nice to get an idea of the person who writes those page turning books I’m reading until the wee hours of the morning.
It’s also nice when an author posts some information about herself. I plan to set up a page that will tell you a little about my background and how I finally decided that I couldn’t live without writing.
On the site will also be an option to sign up for my newsletter. The newsletter will have information about new releases, contests and freebies, but will also share other information about various interests in my life.
On this day in 2016, I wish you the best as you start this New Year. Whatever you look forward to, whether it’s a new relationship, a new career, or making new friends, I wish you much success in your endeavor. Even for the small things like finishing a project. I have a half crocheted baby afghan I need to finish before a friend or relative announces her new addition. No news yet, so I still have some time. I just need to coax myself to pick up my crochet hook while I’m watching Downton Abbey.
Here’s to a Happy New Year to all of you. Please feel free to drop me a line. I always appreciate the news my readers like to share.
Love,
Laura
