6/7/20, Food on  the Movie Set

Eating on set

Film sets have many important jobs, but craft services orders food for the movie set. Depending on the budget, the meals can vary but they have to be good. The crew works hard and needs good food to keep them going.

Meals for a Big Crew

Everyone has different tastes and crafts services makes sure that the crew with special requirements eat as well as everyone else. Food options must cater to the vegan and the gluten-free. Sets must provide water, though sometimes they require the crew to bring their own bottles and fill them on set as needed.

Food on the Movie Set – Mornings

Craft services provides hot coffee. Many crew members depend on caffeine to start their day. After a long production day, they may need caffeine to keep them away when they drive home at night.

On Time Meals

Production can be erratic and sometimes shoots go past mealtime. Craft services stays in tune to the production schedule to provide a hot and fresh meal. If production goes past mealtime, craft services has the meal ready when the crew breaks.

Call It Love

In my book Call It Love, Book 3 of the Beaumont Brides Series, craft services plays a role in the story. Addison and Spencer look forward to these breaks and a chance for good food and social time. As a movie extra, Addison is cast as the stand-in for the lead actress. After testing a scene with Spencer, Addison escapes to craft services. Who wouldn’t need a chance to think about the scene she just tested with Hollywood’s heartthrob?

Thanks for joining me today. I hope all is well with you and your loved ones and that next week is a fun summer week! God bless you all!

Love,

Laura
